AYLUS Birmingham Branch Initiates Math Enrichment Program for Underserved Students III

On June 18th, the AYLUS Birmingham Branch started a math enrichment program for the students at Washing K-8 school, an underserved Title I school. One of the most important ways to positively impact one’s community is to provide opportunities to those who are underserved. The Birmingham Branch hopes to provide the students at Washington K-8 with STEM opportunities that were not previously available to them.

On July 2nd, James Shi (2 hours) and Cynthia Liu (2 hours) taught rising 5th and 6th graders about the area and perimeter of triangles. They also reviewed the last lecture on triangle basics and the coordinate plane.
