One of most challenges for the Senior immigrants from different countries is the communication, especially spoken English. which limits and constrains them to outreach to other people and integrate into the community.
Phoenix AYLUS launch “teach senior English” volunteer activities and try to help the senior immigrants to learn English, especially for spoken and listening English; Phoenix AYLUS start to recruit more volunteers to support this event.
On April 11, 2021, the first “teach Senior English” is started, The advisor Yueli joined the 1st class, mainly to help to setup Zoom meeting and give a brief introduction for teachers and students, and get the elder’s inputs how to run this class. And started 1st class, there are total 6 seniors joined the classes, 3 volunteers participate the class: Audrey Zhang, Yizhou Wang, Ethan Wei (1 hour). And more students are interested to join this volunteer events.
