On November 3, 2020, volunteers from the Irvine branch of AYLUS hosted its eleventh introductory history class for the fall session. We held the lesson on Zoom, and students, consisting of elementary and middle schoolers, had a great time participating.
Today’s topic was World War 2. We once more picked up with the rise of extremists and fascism and moved on to the causes of the war. Then was some details on the actual war and finally the outcome. We used Hearts of Iron IV as a way of showing maps and territorial changes which we tested during our weekly rehearsals and were able to use the national focuses to annex austria and then the sudetenland and then czechoslovakia. The students were able to understand a lot!
