On October 18, the Sugar Land Branch continued its maintenance of the Memorial Park Butterfly Garden. Specifically, members continued developing the trenches and expanding the system throughout the garden. Members dug trenches leading out of the main irrigation trench dug two weeks before to allow all plants in the garden to receive water via the windmill. Another focus of this week was removing dead branches–during this time of year, flowering plants often die from the cold. As a result, members also worked to break and throw away dead branches that were impeding the growth of the surrounding plants.
The participating members were Tong Wang, Angela Wang, and Albon Wu.
