Jericho Branch Donates and Distributes Food to Impoverished Community(1st time) on July 16, 2020

On July 16, 2020, at noon, members of the Jericho Branch of AYLUS helped gather and hand out a week’s worth of food to citizens in a poverty-stricken community. Each family was given supplies based on the number of members in their family, but all featured fairly healthy contents: meat, vegetables, grains, water, and even snacks for small children. In addition, every AYLUS member that participated delivered these supplies, some of which were over 50 pounds, to the receivers’ cars. At 6 pm, the line of the needy finally trickled to a stop. In total, the Jericho Branch donated and distributed food to well over 200 families, most with at least 5 people.

Earning money to buy food is especially hard during the coronavirus, and the Jericho Branch was glad to help assist those in need. Because this event sprouted due to the coronavirus and repeats every week, the Jericho Branch plans to continue donating and giving food to back to this unfortunate community, as well as other communities, to help them endure during the coronavirus.

The following members participated:

Joshua Dong(6hrs)

Kenneth Lee(6hrs)

Steven Lee(6hrs)

Andrew Cheung(6hrs)
