Gladstone Branch Fundraising Event for Hospitals

AYLUS Gladstone Branch

February 29, 2020

On February 29, the Gladstone Branch raised money at the Huaxia Chinese School at Columbia Middle School. They partnered up with two clubs at Ridge High School: The Chinese Culture Club and the Red Cross Club, who in total raised $254 by selling bubble tea and cookies respectfully. During this event, the Gladstone Branch did their part by selling Wanglaoji Herbal Tea cans for $3.

Three members of the branch (Castor Yuan, Owen Luo, and Duc Nguyen) ran the stand. They entered the school cafeteria at noon and stayed until 5 pm, advertising to people passing by. Eventually, after selling 18 cans and collecting donations, the Gladstone Branch raised a total of $186. After that, the three members helped the Red Cross Club sell their merchandise and also gave them the remaining cans to sell. The Gladstone Branch gave all their money to the Red Cross Club to help buy PPE to hospitals around the world while the Chinese Culture Club donated their money to local hospitals so the hospitals could buy ventilators.
