East Cobb Branch Held Youth Tutoring Program IV

On October 6th, the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS held a tutoring session at the East Cobb Library. There were 3 students showed up, the four tutors were able to spend more time with each individual student and explain different concepts in more depth.

During the four sessions, the four tutors helped the students in math. Once the students demonstrated mastery of such materials, the tutors were able to go more in depth, even beyond the current lessons that the students’ teachers may have been teaching at the time.

The first student’s mom told us that he once went to central library, after the mom heard of Youth Tutoring program at East Cobb library, she will bring him here every week.

One of 3rd grade girl was from another county, her grandmother brought her in. The girl seems unwilling to be tutored, she insisted to go with girl tutor. Luckily we have Susanna signed in two session to help her.

As some students did not show up, we proposed to modify our advertisement in the future. Walk-in students are welcome if we have tutor open, therefore, we can help more students.

Attendance: Howard Hua (1 Hour), Maxwell Jiang (2 Hours), Susanna Huang (1 Hour), David Qu (1 Hour)
