Chapel Hill Branch Performed at Senior Living Center on Feb. 10, 2018

With Valentine’s Day approaching in four days and Chinese New Year coming in the next week, the members of the Chapel Hill Branch came to perform special songs to celebrate at the retirement center. So on February 10, many members of the group played a kind of traditional Chinese music to commemorate these upcoming events. Grace played a traditional love song from China while Bei Bei, Rebecca, and Peter all sang to the song in addition to the audience. Christina and Selina both played their separate songs of famous Chinese pieces known to be sung for celebrating the New Year.Next, Mark played two very contrasting pieces with a slow and peaceful beat to it and another with a dark and intense tone that even the dog was compelled to bark at it, and finally, Nicholas played very upbeat tunes. Overall, the performance was a success, and the seniors thoroughly enjoyed it in addition to learning a bit about Chinese culture.
