On June 18, 2016, The AYLUS Western Long Island Branch, along with Brown Charity, hosted the annual South African Fundraiser Concert to raise funds for orphans inflicted with the HIV/AIDS virus. With the hard work and support of volunteers as well as sponsors, we raised $7,785 through ticket sales and sponsor donations. All proceeds will be sent to Lily of the Valley Children’s village to support the growth and guidance of the young children to become future leaders of their respective communities.
This charity organization, Lily of the Valley, sponsored by AYLUS Western long Island Branch and Brown Charity, was founded in 1993, with the focus of providing kids with the HIV/AIDS virus to lead productive and enriching lives. All children arrive at Lily in desperate condition; abandoned, malnourished, and over 90% of them test HIV+ on arrival. The individual case histories are tragic, but once situated at their new home at Lily of the Valley, they find hope and happiness along with their basic needs being met. Our goal is to support these vulnerable orphans inflicted with the HIV/AIDS virus to become future leaders in order to develop sustainable, healthy communities. To achieve this noble goal, we have organized a charity fundraiser and concert. I would like to thank all sponsors, organizations and private persons, who care for people in need in the heart of the African continent.
