The AYLUS Conejo Valley Branch conducted its first study buddy session at Thousand Oaks, CA on April 10th, 2016. Over 26 volunteers tutored around 26 kids for two hours- the youngest kid was 3 years old! The volunteers tutored a variety of subjects, including reading, art, computer programming, and math. Volunteers of the Study Buddy Session had fun teaching middle and elementary school kids with the topics they were interested in. The kids enjoyed the topics very much and they even did not want to leave when the session ended.
To promote the volunteer activities, the most dedicated volunteers were chosen to be the Monthly Activities Committee. These volunteers were selected through a very rigorous interview process. Congratulations to the four volunteers who were selected to be the members of the first Monthly Activities Committee! Thanks to all of the volunteers for spending their time to teach kids the knowledge that they want to learn!
