AYLUS Dix Hills Branch works with Special Olympics NY at Tobay Beach to help bring along community awareness on March 25, 2023.

Volunteers worked hard on this extremely cold Saturday at Tobay Beach to help run the merchandise section of the Polar Plunge event created with the Town of Oyster Bay. We were able to sort through over 10 boxes of sweatshirts, sorting them by size to make the distribution process easier. Ultimately, we distributed over 200 sweatshirts to prospective participants and donors who donated over $200.

People gathered around this day, regardless of the weather, to plunge in cold water or donate their money for raising awareness for the athletes of Special Olympics New York. This event gathered around many members of the Town of Oyster Bay, fostering a hearty and lively environment for a good cause. In total, $124,892 was raised for their campaign, “Freezin’ For a Reason”.

AYLUS Dix Hills is happy to contribute their time and effort towards such a good cause and hopes to dedicate themselves towards other fundraisers in the near future.

Volunteers: Sara Kong (4 hours), Nadia Khan (3 hours 30 mins), Hannah Yu (3 hours 30 mins),

Evan Sun (3 hours 30 mins), Ivan Wu (3 hours 30 mins), and Ming Chen (3 hours and 30 mins).
