Pearland Branch Taught Bucket Drumming Session for kids with special needs in Pearland on Jan. 6th 2024

On January 6th, 2024, the Pearland Branch of AYLUS undertook a heartwarming initiative, providing bucket drumming lessons to a group of special needs children along with their siblings in Pearland. These lessons were a part of their preparation for an onstage performance at the upcoming Lunar New Year Gala.

Devoted AYLUS Pearland volunteers, alongside the Director of the LSA Special Needs Care Center, dedicated themselves to teaching these enthusiastic children the art of bucket drumming right from the basics. Despite being around 5 years old, these children embraced the challenge, starting with learning fundamental beats and understanding when to halt the rhythm.

With patient guidance and consistent practice, the children gradually mastered the beats, showcasing remarkable progress. Their dedication and hard work culminated in their ability to follow the rhythm with confidence. As a token of encouragement and support, each child received their own drum set to continue practicing at home, fostering their passion for music.

This collaborative effort not only imparted musical skills but also instilled a sense of accomplishment and joy in these special young individuals, empowering them to explore their talents and express themselves through the captivating art of bucket drumming.
