On September 30th, 2023, AYLUS Houston marked a momentous occasion with its inaugural SMILE Inclusive Playdate, a heartwarming event held at Katy Christian Community Church. This inclusive playdate, dedicated to children with special needs, aimed to create a space of joy, inclusion, and shared experiences, all made possible with the generous support of the Light and Salt Association.
The atmosphere at Katy Christian Community Church was filled with laughter and excitement as children of all abilities gathered for a day of fun and connection. AYLUS Houston, in collaboration with the Light and Salt Association, transformed the church grounds into a haven of games and activities designed to cater to the unique needs and interests of every child.
The playdate featured an array of engaging activities, including coloring stations that sparked creativity, a friendly basketball match that encouraged teamwork, and the sweet delight of a cotton candy machine that added a touch of whimsy to the festivities. Each element of the event was thoughtfully curated to ensure that every child, regardless of ability, could actively participate and enjoy the day.
