This past Wednesday, AYLUS Houston actively engaged volunteers who participated as both trainers and trainees in the Youth Assisted Inclusive Play and Learn Workshop. President Crystal Wang presented the Houston Branch’s work with the SMILE Inclusive Katy Playdates in conjunction with the Light and Salt Association, the Katy Christian Community Church, and the Hummingbird Association. Diverse locations shared their successes while also addressing encountered challenges. Trainers adeptly provided actionable solutions and valuable suggestions for implementation and ongoing improvement. Crystal detailed the creation of AYLUS Houston’s playdates and covered the branch’s experiences and suggestions for other branches. Ms. Sharon and Ms. Carol from the Light and Salt Association and AYLUS Pearland respectively also offered advice and input for the branches in attendance.
