Chapel Hill Branch Volunteers at PORCH on Oct 15, 2023

On October 15th, members of the AYLUS Chapel Hill Branch volunteered at PORCH to help sort non-perishable foods. Food insecurity is a widespread issue, causing many individuals to lack the means to access enough food for a healthy diet due to financial constraints. In an effort to combat this problem, our volunteers dedicated their time and hard work to PORCH’s mission. This involved organizing a variety of donated food items, such as beans, pasta, snacks, canned fruits, and sauces into their respective categories. Furthermore, they ensured that the paper and plastic bags in which the donations arrived in were appropriately recycled. We hope that our contribution can relieve some hunger, and we look forward to volunteering here next time!

Volunteers who participated in this event are Nicholas Wang (2 hrs) and Ethan Li (DA – 2 hrs)
