San Diego Branch Organized 23rd Young Writers Club Session (September 16th, 2023)

Reported by Max Yang

“Young Writers Club” project, a program aimed at supporting and inspiring young writers in the San Diego Region, was a great success. Organized by Hans Yang from the AYLUS San Diego Branch, a Young Writers Club Session took place on September 16th, 2023. Students worked on 100-word poems, which they will submit to a contest to The New York Times soon.

Furthermore, a Young Writer’s discord server called “The Nest” has been established. The nest gives young writers a place to showcase their work. They can also ask for help or provide feedback to other writers!

In addition to providing students with writing help, the Young Writers Club also supports “Libraries with Love,” an organization committed to building libraries for kids and getting books for them to read.

The AYLUS members who participated in the Writing Workshop Series on September 16th, 2023, were as follows, along with their respective volunteer service hours:

Hans Yang (2.5 hours)

Max Yang (1.5 hours)

Kevin Kan (1.5 hours)

Lauren Kan (1.5 hours)
