AYLUS Syosset continues its weekly volunteers at LINPI (Long Island Native Plants Initiative), 8/19/23

On 8/19/2023, members of AYLUS Syosset went to the Brentwood LINPI (Long Island Native Plants Initiative) Greenhouse to pot plants such as yarrow and white oak. The plants had some yellow leaves, dried leaves, and wilting behavior. It is important that we help water the plants so they don’t have yellow leaves and wilting behavior. Yarrow is an important plant because it contains flavoring plant-based chemicals that increase saliva and stomach acid to help improve digestion. White oak is also an important plant because American white oak has a broad range of uses, from construction-grade products like railroad ties or wood pallets to high-quality materials such as flooring and veneer for cabinets and furniture.

Members who participated include:

Suiwai Li, Suiying Li, Can wen Wei, Xihan Zhang, Jinzhao Ye, Jiachen Xu, Shuaiqing Lin (4 Hours) Nichole Huang, Sonia Huang, Isabella Huang (3 hours).
