On July 9, 16, 2023, AYLUS Oyster Bay members partnered with the Long Island Children’s Museum to educate children.

Long Island Children’s Museum is a haven for young minds, offering a unique and engaging experience where children can play and learn simultaneously, igniting their imagination and fostering creativity. Nestled in a vibrant and welcoming environment, the museum is a go-to destination for families seeking a fun-filled educational adventure.

But the Long Island Children’s Museum isn’t just about engaging exhibits; it’s also about creating a safe and enjoyable environment for families. This is where the Association of Youth Leadership in the United States (AYLUS-Oyster Bay Branch) members play a vital role. Collaborating with the museum staff, AYLUS volunteers manage the ticket booth, ensuring that families have a smooth entry into the museum and answering any questions they might have.

In addition, AYLUS members help maintain the overall experience by moderating the number of people in each exhibition area. Their keen eye on crowd management ensures that no section becomes overcrowded, allowing all children to explore and interact comfortably without feeling overwhelmed.

Perhaps most importantly, AYLUS members act as attentive guardians, diligently watching over the children as they explore the various exhibits. They offer assistance, answer curious inquiries, and provide an extra layer of care to ensure that every child’s visit is as enjoyable and enriching as possible.

The collaboration between Long Island Children’s Museum and AYLUS not only strengthens the bond between the community and the youth but also reinforces the museum’s mission to create a nurturing space where children can grow, learn, and discover the world around them. Through this partnership, the museum continues to inspire the next generation of thinkers, doers, and dreamers, paving the way for a brighter future filled with creativity, curiosity, and boundless possibilities.

Gratitude to the following young volunteers, totaling 16.5 volunteer hours collectively.
