Pearland Branch Volunteered Summer Tennis Lessons Program Conducted at the Local Community on June 7,2023

On Jun 7, 2023, Pearland Branch began to conduct the first 2 hours group Tennis lesson
in the Dawson High School tennis court. The purpose of the program was to promote
tennis as a recreational activity, provide basic tennis skills to community members, and
encourage active and healthy lifestyles. he high-quality courts, constructed by professional tennis court builders, provided an ideal setting for participants to learn and enjoy the sport.

With the help of many volunteer coaches, volunteers/coaches have been able to work
together and offer 3 levels group tennis lessons for more than 19 amazing children around
the ages of 5 – 14. In preparation of each lesson, the volunteers discuss and intuitively
create tennis drills and tips in order to efficiently guide and help the students.

Moreover, the volunteers also include a variety of fitness exercises, games, and physical
training to increase the students’ endurance and stamina. This session was concluded with
stretches to prevent injuries and cramps.

All the kids were able to let their energy out for 2 hours and both the coaches and the kids
had a fun time during training. At the end of the day, we raised $385 in total for our fundraising project.
