Morrisville/Cary Branch Volunteers at Special Olympics North Carolina on June 4, 2023

Special Olympics North Carolina is one of the largest Special Olympics programs in the world with nearly 40,000 registered athletes who train and compete in year-round programs in 20 different sports. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

On June 4, 2023, six members from Morrisville Branch volunteered at the 2023 Special Olympics North Carolina. Alison Wu volunteered as a competition assistant at the Artistic gymnastics event. Kenna and Halley volunteered as a souvenir sales assistant at the Cary bowling event. Allen, Rebecca and Brianna volunteered at the Raleigh bowling event. We are so happy to be part of the Special Olympics to sow our support to the special community!

Volunteers that participated in this event: Kenna Zhang (3.5 hours), Allen Liu (7 hours), Alison Wu (7 hours), Halley Zhong (3.5 hours), Rebecca Yao (7 hours), Brianna Xin (7 hours).
