The AYLUS Dix Hills members with the Half Hour Hills library to appreciate veterans. Volunteers worked to show their appreciation for veterans by making personalized mugs and letters nicely, wrapped for the eventual award ceremony dedicated to them. The veterans that we are celebrating today are those of our community. They’ve worked hard to protect us and we wanted to give them something back as a thanks for their bravery. Members put vinyl stickers that had the veterans name and the occupation in the military on the ceramic mugs. Afterwards, we wrote cards to put our thanks into words.
The things veterans do for our community, as well as the nation, require a lot of sacrifice and hard work. Through our actions, we hope to express our,
gratitude and thankfulness to those around us.
