Morrisville Branch organized a book drive for Book Harvest on March 11, 2023

Books are essential to the well-being and healthy development of children. Books, readily available and in abundance, are vital to school readiness, academic success, and lifelong learning. We believe the all children have the right to own books from birth. Book Harvest is an organization that aspires to rewrite literacy experiences and outcomes, ensuring that all children can feast at the table of words and vocabulary from birth. More than 1,900,000 Book Harvest books have been harvested by children and families since 2011.

To support the mission of Book Harvest, Morrisville branch organized a book drive in our local community. Our branch member Shawn Ye organized the book drive at Cary Chinese School, more than 200 books are collected. Another member Kenna Zhang organized the book drive at her subdivision. She collected more than 70 books. All the books will be donated to Book Harvest.

Volunteers: Shawn Ye (3 hours, book collection in 3 consecutive weeks at Cary Chinese School), Kenna Zhang (4 hours, making book drive flyers, collect books from local community).
