Murrieta AYLUS Lends a Hand to The Little Garden of Hope Project (5th) (1/8/22)

Reported by Julie Lu

On January 8, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members Jessica Lu and Hsin-Chen (Julie) Lu helped out with The Little Garden of Hope project. Before heading to the garden, the members went to their local Home Depot to buy pots. Feeling that it would be a waste to simply get rid of the beautifully grown succulents, the members came up with the idea to place them in individual pots that they could then gift to the senior center. When they got to the garden, the members were excited to see the white radish seeds they had planted had germinated. They immediately got to thinning out the plants and transferring them to another row so each plant will have enough space to properly grow. The members also prepared pots of succulents and carefully picked out colorful stones to place as decoration. Seeing that the sky had already darkened, the members quickly finished what they were doing and tidied up. Before leaving, the members left the three extra succulents they had potted on the doorstep as a gift to Jacob’s House. Proud of their hard work, the members headed home, looking forward to their next visit!
