Murrieta AYLUS Lends a Hand to Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley #2- ABWK Paint Project (10/1/22)

Reported by Julie Lu

On October 1, 2022, Murrieta AYLUS members Cathy Liu, Jessica Lu, Adora Xiao, and Julie Lu participated in helping Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley with repainting houses whose exteriors had been worn down over the years.

After arriving at the house painting site, the members immediately started helping to set out the tarps so that paint doesn’t stain the concrete while everybody was working. By the time they were finished, most other volunteers had arrived. The staff then demonstrated ladder safety and gave important tips on what to watch out for when painting the house. After taking a few group photos, everybody set out to find a section of the house to work on. Before long, the house’s exterior was completely covered with a fresh layer of paint, and the members set out to collect and put away the tarps and ladders.

Everybody had a great time painting, and we can’t wait to do this again!

Volunteers:

Cathy Liu : 4.5 hrs

Jessica Lu : 4.75 hrs

Adora Xiao: 5 hrs

Julie Lu: 4.75 hrs
