San Diego Branch Organized Mooncakes Charity Sales for Elderly on September 10th, 2022

Overwhelming researches show that pets are a real heath benefit for their elderly owners with lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, better sense of security, less depression and live longer. Unfortunately, the cost and ability to accquire pet food can often prove to be insurmountable obstacles for homebound seniors and disabled individuals.

The Mid Autumn Festival is a Chinese holiday of reunion, especially,the festival of caring for the Elderly. To provide pet food amid the covid-19 pandemic, and help those seniors in need, AYLUS San Diego Branch organized a DIY Mooncake Production for Charity Sales and fundraising to AniMeal Relief on Sep 10th, 2022.  A total of 16 orders received, 64 mooncakes were produced with a total of $600 fund (Charity Sales + Company donation) raised to AniMeals.

The following members participated in the Charity Sales Event on Sep 10, 2022, with 5.0 volunteer hours for each: Angela Li, Enke Luo, Liuqing Chen, Yicheng Liu, Enze Luo, Nathan Yang.
