During the month of July, in 2022, I am the member of East Cobb Branch of AYLUS volunteered to tutor English to Senior Citizens. This activity was done online using Zoom and other similar videotelephony programs to simulate a face-to-face class without risking the health of the senior citizen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
AYLUS volunteer Emily Sun tutored a senior citizen using Zoom, and practiced reading by reading the Bible. Emily would help the senior learn to pronounce a word correctly if she was having trouble on her own. Emily enjoys helping the senior learn to speak and read English so that she can navigate life easier.
