AYLUS Syosset Aids in Securing a Health Harvest at the Long Island Native Plants Initiative, #8 (7/23/22)

On 7/23/22, members of AYLUS Syosset volunteered at the Brentwood LINPI (Long Island Native Plants Initiative) Greenhouse, transplanting native plants such as milkweed and grass into trays or bigger pots depending on the plant.

The Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) is an all-volunteer cooperative effort of over 30 non-profit organizations, governmental agencies, nursery professionals, and citizens. Their mission is to protect the genetic integrity and heritage of Long Island native plant populations by establishing commercial sources of genetically appropriate local) plant materials for use in nurseries, landscaping, and habitat restoration activities.

Members that participated in this event included: Alyssa Huang(4 hours), Margaret Zhang(4.5 hours), Michael Wang(4 hours), Angela Wang(4 hours), Nian Li(4 hours), Haoyu Qiu(4 hours), Alexander Wu(3 hours), Peilin Guo(4 hours), Julia Jia, Lisa Min-Jin, Ying Ren, Nian’s mom and Alexander’s mom.
