AYLUS Greater Temecula Valley Hosts a Recycling and Donates to a Local Animal Shelter in July 2022

Reported by Julie Lu

On July 15th, 2021, the Greater Temecula Valley AYLUS (GTVA) hosts a recycling to help animals event by collecting empty recyclable bottles, cans, and bottles from our families and friends. All the proceeds will be used to buy items that will be donated to the local animal shelter Animal Friends of the Valleys to help the abandoned pets.

A few days earlier, GTVA members Adora Xiao (2 hrs), Jessica Lu (3 hrs), and Julie Lu (3 hrs) had gathered empty bottles and cans and brought them to a local recycling center to exchange for money. The money was then used to buy food, toys, and other supplies to donate to the Animal Friends of the Valleys.

The Animal Friends of the Valleys is non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting humane care of animals through education and a humane, proactive animal services program. They are based in Wildomar and provides animal service to the cities of Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Wildomar, Menifee, Murrieta, and Temecula.

After donating the supplies, the members stayed for a while and played with the animals. The event was successful and we will be sure to host it again.
