On July 10, 2022, volunteers from the AYLUS Irvine Branch teamed up with AYLUS New York City to initiate another tutoring session with students from all over the United States. They primarily focused on English and Writing homework help. Annie Lee from the Irvine branch meticulously helped the kids every step of the way.
Annie: We began today’s lesson by reading, summarizing, and analyzing a few chapters of Hatchet, focusing on the main character’s emotional growth and the symbolic importance of his hatchet. We also continued our exploration of good writing techniques by studying similes, metaphors, and strong action verbs.
