AYLUS of Bellaire volunteered at Books for Development on June 25, 2022

The AYLUS of Bellaire volunteered at Books for Development on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Books for Development aims to help solve the book famine in developing countries, such as Uganda, by creating libraries and donating books. There are books for so many users from Uganda’s national zoo, to nursing schools, to prisons, to refugee camps, but most of all to children to sharpen their literacy skills and help them join an increasingly complex world. Recently, Books for Development built a library in Uganda called the Library of African Nile.

While at Books for Development, volunteers unboxed, sorted, and boxed books to be sent to Uganda.

The following volunteers attended this event (3 hours): Alexander Tang, Yuruo Shen, Aria Jin, Zoey Dou, Nirvan Kudithipudi, Elaine Qin, Emma Xiao, Alan Du, Andrew Liu, Owen Cheng, Daniel Chan, Irene Chen, Yimen Sun.
