Columbus Branch Participated in the Dublin Community Service Day on May 7th

On Saturday, May 7th, volunteers from the AYLUS Columbus Branch participated in the Dublin Chamber of Commerce Community Service Day Event. The annual event, hosted by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, brings together volunteers of all ages in order to help local senior citizens and residents in need with outdoor tasks. The volunteers from the AYLUS Columbus Branch were split into groups and assigned houses in which they performed a variety of outdoor tasks for the senior citizens. For example, some volunteers laid mulch while others organized a flower bed. In total, the tasks the volunteers participated in consisted of cleaning windows and flower beds, picking up dead grass, laying mulch, planting flowers, and other general cleaning tasks. For around three hours that morning, the volunteers performed these tasks, improving the residents’ lawns and bringing joy to the seniors’ faces. Despite the difficult labor, volunteers maintained smiles and positive attitudes throughout the entirety of the event. Overall, the event was an excellent way for members to take part in meaningful service to help members of the community.
