The Sugar Land Branch launched a debate club in Spring 2020. This club, founded and led by Andrew Lian, focuses on helping elementary school students develop skills in critical thinking, collaboration, persuasion, and communication.
Today a lot of people were on vacation due to Spring Break. So we decided to have a little fun with the students still on with mock speeches. I gave each of them 15 minutes in total to research, write, and practice their talk and then I would give them 7 minutes to present. Afterwards I gave them feedback and tips to show them how to improve.
