AYLUS Syosset Composting Station Remediation (1/23/22, #1)

On 1/23/22, members of the AYLUS Syosset Branch participated in the remediation of a composter for a home in the community of Syosset, NY.

Members of AYLUS Syosset evaluated the contents in a previously constructed composter. According to what was lacking in the composter, materials such as food scraps, paper shreds, and decayed leaves, sticks and plants were used proportionately to fill the container layer by layer.

Through events like these, AYLUS Syosset hopes to better combat the problem of food waste in our community by recycling materials that aren’t used. In the future, this composter (along with many others) will recycle hundreds of unusable/unfinished scraps and help make our community as green as can be.

Members that participated include Alan Huang (1 hour), Tommy Tang (1 hour)
