AYLUS Bellaire Branch Volunteered at the Houston Public Library Warehouse on December 11, 2021

On December 11, 2021, 9 members of the AYLUS Bellaire branch and 4 parent board members volunteered at the Houston Public Library Warehouse from 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM.

This event involved organizing books and DVDs donated from local citizens and libraries into the categories of those in good condition and those not. Books/DVDs in good condition were further sorted based on the content and would be resold at the library’s monthly book sale, with all proceeds going to the Houston Public Library Foundation to support literacy programs and library initiatives.

Volunteers also helped with December book sale held on that afternoon and assisted customers to find the books they were interested in buying.  Other activities included sorting books and restocking bookshelves. In all, the volunteers managed to sort around 100 boxes of discs and books.

Volunteers who attended this event (3.5 hours): Helena Wang (project leader), Miranda Wang (co-leader), Erin He, Shreyas Sinha, Selina Qiu, Delbert Nie, Isabel Li, Joshua Cheng, and Andrew Chen.
