Sugar Land Branch Continues International Academic Lessons 195-196

Our 18th unit is from 8/29/2021 to 10/2/2021; the Sugar Land Branch Junior Support Program, led by Branch’s junior leader Alvin Zhou, has continued offering free lessons to kids. We started the Singapore Math 2B class on 7/19/2021; and Singapore Math 1A on 7/15/2021. The classes are introductory mathematics courses for 2nd graders and below. Primary Mathematics 1A Textbook and Workbook would introduce and explain the basic concept of numbers, addition, subtraction, length, and weight. Primary Math Book 2B covers Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, Money, Fractions, Time, Capacity, Graphs, Geometry, and Area. We expect that the concrete, visual approach will enable students to encounter math in a meaningful way. We wound teach four lessons each week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, with 1A on Thursday and Sunday; meanwhile 2B on Monday and Wednesday.

During the 5th week of the 18th unit from 9/26/2021 to 10/2/2021, Alvin organized the meetings; meanwhile, Nathan and Ethan joined as presenters. Nathan taught lesson for 2B on 9/27, and Ethan taught lesson for 2B on 9/29.
