During the first week of September, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Humanities Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, and also to teach students history or foreign languages such as Spanish.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language. Their language challenge camp activities included:

Haobin Cao tutored Miranda Xue on English Writing on Saturday, 9/4, for an hour and a half.
Ryan Hua tutored Darren Cui, Katherine Backues, Eva Mather, Tristan Shi, Annabelle Liao, Sarina F on European History on Sunday, 9/5, for an hour and a half.
Andrew Chen tutored John Zou on English Reading on Sunday, 9/5, for an hour and a half
