East Cobb Branch Holds Senior English Tutoring In July 2021

Isabel Liu from the East Cobb Branch participated in the English Tutoring Program and contributed 5 hours throughout July 2021.

The purpose of this program is to provide a free learning service to help the elderly in the community who are unfamiliar with English. The volunteers met with seniors in one-on-one sessions. By meeting individually to improve their language, we hope to help them communicate and interact with others in a better manner.

I tutored using Zoom meetings, one day a week. I read from the Book of Matthews in the Bible and focused mainly on pronunciation and foreign words.

The lessons have been beneficial and consistent, and I am glad to have been able to help someone learn something new. The elder I worked with has been gradually improving her pronunciation, and in addition, study the stories and messages from the Bible.
