Sugar Land Branch Continues International Academic Lessons 160

Our 16th unit is from 7/4/2021 to 7/31/2021; the Sugar Land Branch Junior Support Program, led by Branch’s junior leader Alvin Zhou, has continued offering free lessons to kids. We started the Singapore Math 2B class on 7/19/2021; and Singapore Math 1A on 7/15/2021. The classes are introductory mathematics courses for 2nd graders and below. Primary Mathematics 1A Textbook and Workbook would introduce and explain the basic concept of numbers, addition, subtraction, length, and weight. Primary Math Book 2B covers Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, Money, Fractions, Time, Capacity, Graphs, Geometry, and Area. We expect that the concrete, visual approach will enable students to encounter math in a meaningful way. We wound teach four lessons each week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, with 1A on Thursday and Sunday; meanwhile 2B on Monday and Wednesday.

During the 2nd week of the 16th unit from 7/11/2021 to 7/17/2021, Alvin organized and taught lesson for 1A on 7/15/2021.
