East Cobb Branch Holds Senior English Tutoring in June 2021

Matthew Zhu from the East Cobb Branch participated in the English Tutoring Program and tutored for 5 hours in June, 2021.

This program’s goal is to provide English guidance to the elderly who do not know much English. Volunteers are needed for 1 on 1 tutoring sessions. By helping these elderly improve their English, the goal is to make communication smoother and life easier for them.

I taught over zoom, using Cambridge Ventures textbook curriculum. I helped the elder learn new English vocabulary and went over model sentences.

The lessons have been going really smooth, and I have gotten positive feed back from the elder. It feels nice knowing that you helped an elderly learn a new language. I have also been able to improve my Chinese, which is the elderly’s mother language.

Emily Sun: 6/6 1 hour, 6/13/21 1 hour, 6/18 1 hour, 6/25 1 hour
