Sugar Land Branch Continues International Academic Lessons 143-145

Our 14th unit is from 5/1/2021 to 5/31/2021; the Sugar Land Branch Junior Support Program, led by Branch’s junior leader Alvin Zhou, has continued offering free lessons to Pre-K kids. We started the Singapore Math 2A class on 4/5/2021. The class is an introductory mathematics course for 2nd graders and below. We decided to teach forty lessons in total, which lasting from 4/5/2021 to 7/5/2021. Primary Math Book 2A teaches numbers, comparing, and place value to 100, addition and subtraction with/without renaming, measuring length in meters, centimeters, yards, feet and inches, measuring weight in kilograms, grams, pounds, ounces, multiplication, and dividing by 2 and 3. We expect that the concrete, visual approach will enable students to encounter math in a meaningful way. We wound teach three lessons each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

During the 4th week of the 14th unit from 5/23/2021 to 5/29/2021, Alvin organized the meetings; meanwhile, Zarina, Sarena, and Erin joined as presenters. Zarina taught Lesson 22 on 5/24; Sarena taught Lesson 23 on 5/26; Erin taught Lesson 24 on 5/28.

We will include lesson which taught by Ethan on 5/31 in report of June because it was the beginning of a whole week.
