AYLUS-Syosset Demands to Stop Asian Hate in the Manhasset Rally (4/18/21, #2)

On April 18th, 2021, members of the AYLUS-Syosset branch attended the Manhasset Rally Against Asian Hate. Hundreds of people of all ethnicities attended the event.

Ever since COVID-19 came to the United States, anti-Asian hate crimes have spiked tremendously. Asians are often seen as the source of the “kung flu,” therefore becoming targets of verbal and physical abuse. To stand up against this hate, members of AYLUS-Syosset took their homemade signs to attend the rally, showing support for the Asian-American community. Together, we can stop Asian hate.

Alan Huang(3 hours), Leo Cheng(3 hours), Francina Liu, Zhi-Guo Huang, and Annabelle Cheng attended the rally, and were interviewed by the Newsday reporter. They also spoke to US Congresswoman Grace Meng and invited her to an upcoming rally.
