AYLUS San Diego continues Language Challenge Camp (46th) on the Third Week of January 2021

During the third week of January, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Language Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, and also to teach students foreign languages such as Spanish.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language. Their language challenge camp activities included:

Haobin Cao taught his student Alice Yang Chinese for an hour and a half on Saturday, 1/16.

Mike Bai taught his student Ben Guo Chinese for an hour and a half on Saturday, 1/16.
Bill Zhao taught his students Grace Ye and Barbara Zhao English writing for third graders on Saturday, 1/16, for one and a half hours.

Edward Liu tutored Joanne Liu, Eric Cheng, Felix Yang, and Daniel Wang on English Writing for 5th graders on Saturday, 1/16, for one and a half hours.

Meijia He tutored Jennifer Wang, Sarina Feng, and Andrew Xu on Spanish(beginner) on Saturday, 1/16, for one and a half hours.

In total, there were 11 participants in this event, with 5 volunteers.

The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 46th online Language Challenge Camp activity on January 16th, 2021.
