Irvine Branch Resumes Its AMC 8 Prep Classes, Starting Its Fall Learning Experience on August 21, 2020

On August 21, 2020, volunteers from the Irvine Branch of AYLUS hosted its first fall online AMC 8 prep class. Students who want to get better at the AMC 8 joined for a very fun and engaging class through Discord.

Today, we were able to cover many problems that varied among the topics of probability, algebra, counting, geometry, and more. The students had a good time solving the problems and explaining their unique solutions to the rest of the class.

As a side note, we have decided that we will be resubscribing to Zoom after our trial run with Discord, as we had experienced some technical difficulties in our lesson. We will be returning to Zoom for our future lessons, but will still use Discord as an intermediary resource for contact and topic discussions so students can stay connected.
