On August 8, 2020, a member from the AYLUS Irvine Branch participated in the Families Forward Back to School Backpack Distribution event from 9 AM to 12 PM.
Families Forward is an Orange County non-profit organization that “helps families in need achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through housing, food, counseling, education, and other support services.”
During these three hours at the Families Forward facility, Aditya Verma gave back to the community in many ways. He helped separate school supplies by their respective grades, put them into the backpacks, and distributed those to children and other parties in preparation for the coming school year. Additionally, he assisted in organizing food packages and sorting through donations to the organization. It was a very productive morning for him!
Here is a tidbit of what he had to say about the event: “The event was very fun and well planned. It was very hands on and it felt nice to directly help and benefit the community!”
