Columbus Branch Donated Masks to Retirement Center on April 9, 2020

On 04/09/2020, AYLUS Columbus donated home made cloth masks and professional masks to Senior Star retirement center.
In response to a request for cloth masks from the executive director of the Dublin retirement village, volunteers Rachel Zhu and Brenna Li, Michelle Lin, Amy Xuan, Kyle Xuan, and Alice Nie quickly went to action. With the help from their family members, Rachel Zhu made 36, and Brenna Li made 3 homemade cloth masks. They were donated to the local retirement center. Brenna Li made a paper origami flower to go with the donation. Rachel Zhu also prepared an instruction letter describing how the masks were made and how they should be used, and other preventative measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Michelle Lin also donated 20 medical masks to Senior Star, along with a picture of Murphy, a dog in the retirement center that the kids always saw and quietly played with when they performed music there.
Amy Xuan and her younger brother Kyle Xuan donated two kid-sized N95 masks along with two letters with encouraging words to Senior Star.
Alice Nie joined a local cloth-mask-donation group and quickly learned how to make cloth masks. She has been making and donating more cloth masks to the community with that local volunteer group.
