Chapel Hill Branch does Gardening Work at the Gene Strowd Rose Garden on June 1, 2019

June 1, 2019

It is our first volunteer event in June! Today, we helped out at Gene Strowd Rose Garden at Chapel Hill community park. We were tasked to remove the labels from the extra stakes, to straighten and reposition the stakes 6 inches from the ground, to place new labels and stakes for unlabeled roses, to pick up trash, and to alphabetically organize the box of labels. All of these tasks were finished within 2 hours and Caroline (the organizer) was left satisfied. It was a meaningful activity for everyone; we were gratified to see the garden with the correct labels, which will serve as a great educational value to the public.
