Columbus Branch Face Painted at Asian Festival on May 25 & 26, 2019

On May 25th and 26th, AYLUS Columbus Branch members volunteered at the Asian Festival. A face painting session was set up at the China booth which Misha Lee organized. Misha, Lili, Julia, Catherine, June, Sydney, and Emma painted approximately 485 faces in total and received many compliments on their artistic abilities. Together they are a team called “Fantastic Faces” which has been attending volunteer events in the community for the past two years bringing smiles to children’s faces. This was Fantastic Faces’ second time volunteering at the Asian Festival after being welcomed back from last year’s success. This year, the booth was open from 10:30am-4:00pm on Saturday and 11:00am-5:00pm on Sunday. The booth was extremely popular as people of all ages waited in line to get their faces painted. All of the designs were created by Fantastic Faces and included images related to Asian culture such as cherry blossoms, pandas, and dragons. Other AYLUS members also dedicated their time to helping out with the festival, carrying out various tasks which all led to the huge success of the 25th Asian Festival which attracted more than 100,000 visitors.
