San Diego Branch Organized 28th Computer for Kids Lab on July 13th, 2018

On July 13th, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 28th Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.

The participants did the following:

  • 601 Tablets Placed in Sleeves
  • 20 Monitors Tested and Cleaned – Ready for Distribution
  • 204 Tablets Reset – Ready for Distribution
  • 337 Tablet Power Adapters Cleaned & Wrapped
  • 125 Speakers Tested and Bagged
  • 187 Mice Bagged with Power Cords
So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab started:
  • Diagnosed, repaired, and tested 1,532 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
  • Tested and repaired 74 LCD monitors
  • Diagnosed and tested 126 hard drives
  • Wrapped/folded, sorted, and packed 1,206 mice, and power cords/adaptors
  • Tested and Bagged 125 Speakers

The following volunteers participated: Mike Bai, Luca Dobrin, Daniel Li, Samuel Li, Andrew Peng, Joshua Trost, Emily Wang, Kevin Wang, Michael Wang, Richard Wu, Eric Xu, Jason Xu, Ricky Xu, Claude Yan, Yaming Yang, Yawen Yang, Amanda Zhang, Alan Zhu, and Brian Zhu.

The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 28th Computer for Kids Lab.
