We have complete the first expository essay! I had the students start brainstorming last week and we reviewed what we learned from lesson one. In order to ensure progress, we reviewed the fourteen vocabulary words from last week’s homework and also learned fourteen more. The homework that I assigned for the students this week were the 14 words we learned in class, to read 18 pages from The Phantom Tollbooth, and 25 pages from the Non-Fiction book that each student had of their own choice. In addition, the students are to bring in an advertisement of any kind, so I can lead my lesson on persuasive writing for lesson three.
