Columbus Branch Performed at Dublin Retirement Village on November 12, 2016

On November 12, the Columbus Branch of ALYUS went to their bi-weekly performance at the Dublin Retirement Village.   Each volunteer played 2-3 pieces of music that added up to an hour-long performance.  The cream of the crop was a duet performed by Amy (Violin) and Alice (Flute).  On a non-musical note, this trip was highlighted by the arrival of two new members, Alex Wang and Kevin Wang (Not Related).  The purpose of the performances by the Columbus Branch of ALYUS is to raise the quality of life of the seniors by: relieving boredom, motivating movement, triggering positive thoughts and memories, calming nervousness, and promoting social interaction. Russell, a retiree at the senior house, exemplified our goals. He has gone to and enjoyed every performance so far as the music reminded him of his former piano days.

This concert was preformed by: Amy, Alice, Gavin, Kevin, Dustin, Jason, Mark, Alex, Eileen, Michelle L, Aiden, and Katy.
